* Margaret Flynn Doctorman; Camarillo Resident

Margaret Flynn Doctorman, a Lions Club member and lifelong Camarillo resident, died Friday at St. John’s Pleasant Valley Hospital. She was 68.

She was born Margaret Flynn on May 13, 1931, in Camarillo, where she grew up with her two sisters.

In 1949, she graduated from Santa Clara High School and went on to Santa Monica College, where she graduated with an associate of arts degree.

She met and later married William Doctorman on July 23, 1955, at St. Mary Magdalene Chapel in Camarillo.

The couple were very active in the Lions Club and attended many community events. She was also a member of the Republican Women’s Organization.

“She always said that she had a wonderful life,” said her niece, Lori Westbrook. The Doctormans traveled every summer to Illinois to visit relatives and usually stayed about a month. Westbrook said that her aunt and uncle did everything that they wanted.

Margaret Doctorman was very close to her nieces and nephews and enjoyed their company.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sisters, Helen Westbrook of Oxnard and Pat Flynn of Turlock, and 13 nieces and nephews.

Services are scheduled at 2 p.m today at St. Mary Magdalene Chapel in Camarillo with Father Bob Maher officiating. Burial will follow at the Santa Clara Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the James A. Reardon Mortuary in Oxnard.
