The Centralia School District is holding a workshop, led by Nancy Marcus, the district’s English Language Proficiency Program coordinator, for San Marino Elementary School parents on encouraging children to read.
During the one-hour session, which begins at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, Marcus will read a children’s book to the parents to teach them how to draw the youngsters into the story. She plans to talk about what types of questions to ask children and when to pause. A Spanish interpreter will attend the session, at 6215 San Rolando Way.
