Newport-Mesa Unified trustees at a recent meeting gave Newport Beach Little League permission to install a scoreboard above the athletic field at Lincoln Elementary School. The board also honored employees retiring from the district: Bernice Bielamowicz, Richard Bierregaard, Joyce Bonvecchio, Leila Case, Rita Charlesworth, Bonita Coyne, Barbara Echternach, Shirley Feller, Pat Hornung, William Knight, Marie Kopke, Patricia Neal, Carolyn Stocker, Don Story, Hedwig Voigt and Beatric White. Additionally, board members approved final changes to next year’s school calendar. Students will have the following days off: Nov. 11, Veterans Day; Nov. 12, Admissions Day; Nov. 25 and 26, Thanksgiving Recess; Dec. 20-Jan. 3, Winter Recess; Jan. 17, Martin Luther King Jr. Day; Feb. 11, Lincoln’s Birthday; Feb. 21, Presidents Day; April 17-21, Spring Recess; May 29, Memorial Day.
