The City Council tonight will hear a report on the condition of the city’s finances. A presentation by City Manager Tim Casey and public discussion will kick off the review of the proposed city budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The city has an operating budget of about $29 million, according to city staff reports. Discussion about how to fund city services, projects and programs will be continued at a formal budget workshop June 10. Formal budget adoption is expected by June 15, Casey said.
