The City Council on Tuesday will decide whether to give Pointe Anaheim the green light to move into the resort area--and onto one of the city’s most coveted pieces of land: a parcel across from Disneyland. Last month, the Planning Commission unanimously approved the proposed $545-million entertainment/retail complex despite a parade of opposition from Disney officials.
If the council approves the project, work on the sprawling 565,000-square-foot complex will begin early next year, with completion sometime in 2001, developers say. The council meets at 5 p.m. in chambers, 200 S. Anaheim Blvd.
