Police are looking for a driver who hit a man in a wheelchair in Stanton on Sunday evening, then fled.
Ronald Wayne Howard, 38, was crossing the 8800 block of Cerritos Avenue about 6:40 p.m. when he was hit by a white Toyota, said Lt. Rich Paddock of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
The driver “drove about 100 feet after he struck Mr. Howard, stopped, and then sped away,” Paddock said.
Howard, who drives a motorized wheelchair, was taken to Columbia West Anaheim Medical Center, where he was in stable condition with a broken leg Sunday evening, said nursing supervisor Dennis Wright.
The Sheriff’s Department is asking anyone who has details about the accident to call (714) 288-6743.
