SIMI VALLEY — The first public meeting in a year to discuss ongoing cleanup at Rocketdyne’s Santa Susana Field Laboratory will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Simi Valley.
Representatives from local, state and federal agencies are scheduled to attend. The meeting will be held at the Simi Valley Senior Citizens Center, 3900 Avenida Simi. For more information, contact the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency at (415) 744-1589.
The 2,700-acre lab was established in 1946 to test rocket engines and missile components for the military. Nuclear energy research and development occurred at the plant, but was discontinued in 1988.
