The City Council on Tuesday approved permits for the construction of a 65-unit, single-family home development, planned next to the Monarch Beach golf course. Nearby homeowners had asked the council to overturn the Planning Commission’s approval of the project or restrict the height of the homes because the development as planned will result in blocked views. The planned homes, however, are within city height guidelines, so the council denied the homeowners’ appeal. Information: (949) 248-9890.
