Highs, Lows of ‘The Matrix’

I am dumbfounded by Jose Paul Corona’s diatribe against “The Matrix” (“In ‘Matrix,’ It’s a Future to Die For,” April 22). Yet again we have a pseudo-intellectual spewing forth about things he doesn’t know about. (I’m willing to bet he’s never read a sci-fi novel in his entire life.)
There are so many obvious counter-examples as to why his points about wooden acting and bad dialogue are just plain absurd, that I can’t even begin. I wonder if he’s ever seen an action movie he actually liked?
I think there’s a much bigger problem in movies today than “high tech and low brain wave.” I would call it high pomposity and low brain wave writers.
