Buena Park Teen Violinist Honored

Violinist Sun Jung Rachel Kim, 16, of Buena Park won the $2,000 most promising musician prize in the Los Angeles Philharmonic’s 1999 Bronislaw Kaper Awards for Young Artists, a competition held recently at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles. Kim attends Anaheim High School and studies with Robert Lipsett. Ten young musicians up to age 17 or high-school seniors competed for the cash awards.
