The City Council reviewed a preliminary study last week that evaluated the feasibility of constructing a bus transit center in the area around the Mall of Orange.
Three alternatives were recommended for evaluation. One alternative is constructing a transit center in the mall parking lot on the northeast corner of Meats Avenue and Canal Street and directly adjacent to Sears retail and auto stores. A second alternative would be north of the Sears truck loading dock and south of the JCPenney store.
The third choice would be in the mall’s east side parking lot north of the mall driveway and west of Tustin Street.
A parking structure would be required if any of the alternatives were chosen.
