* Re “Microsoft Empire a Monopoly, Judge Says in Antitrust Case,” Nov. 6: The federal judge who ruled against Microsoft struck a blow against hard work, risk-taking, creativity and free enterprise. Bill Gates should be commended for displaying those qualities in a venture that has employed tens of thousands while providing the American people with the greatest technological innovation and convenience since televisions in the 20th century.
