Microsoft Case

* Re “Microsoft Empire a Monopoly, Judge Says in Antitrust Case,” Nov. 6: The federal judge who ruled against Microsoft struck a blow against hard work, risk-taking, creativity and free enterprise. Bill Gates should be commended for displaying those qualities in a venture that has employed tens of thousands while providing the American people with the greatest technological innovation and convenience since televisions in the 20th century.

What is it about our culture that anyone who works hard and succeeds becomes a target of politicians for their own self-serving ambitions? The moral is if you build a better mousetrap, the government will get you for doing so.
