PLACENTIA

City Council members decided Tuesday to wait before voting to approve a franchise transfer of assets between Adelphia Communications Corp. and Comcast Cablevision. They said they wanted to see the city attorney look more closely at the arrangement to determine how it would affect Placentia consumers, and what the city could do about it legally.
“In the process of review I found that portions of the application are ambiguous, incomplete and inaccurate,” City Atty. Carol B. Tanenbaum said. She recommended the report be filed while she sends a notice of incompletion to the company.
Comcast Cablevision and Adelphia Communications decided to swap assets. In exchange for some of Adelphia’s service areas on the East Coast, Comcast is giving up about 37 service areas in Southern California. Placentia is part of one of them.
