Boeing Co. engineers at a local space-flight center will monitor a launch Saturday of the company’s Delta II rocket carrying a NASA satellite into orbit.
The satellite will help scientists better understand the effect of the sun on other satellites, astronauts and communication systems on Earth, officials said.
The space flight center at the Boeing facility in Huntington Beach allows technicians to follow the progress of missions.
The launch will take place at Vandenberg Air Force Base.
