The City Council will vote on a proposed 2% water rate increase at today’s meeting.
The rate hikes, which would become effective June 1, Jan. 1, 2001, and Jan. 1, 2002, are to finance a water fund, which will pay for an $8-million bond the city plans on taking in 2004 to replace the Hillcrest Reservoir.
The meeting begins at 4 p.m. in City Council Chambers, 303 W. Commonwealth Ave.
