THURSDAY
A Dating Game: Epicurean cooking school has convinced a local (and single) French chef to judge a cooking contest and take the winner out for a dinner date. If you’re interested in the set-up, bring a recipe that serves two when you enroll for the class. The school will provide the ingredients, you’ll do the cooking, and the chef will do the judging. (Proceeds from this “class” will be donated to Meals on Wheels.) 6:30 p.m. Epicurean School of Culinary Arts, 8759 Melrose Ave., L.A. (310) 659-5990. $100.

Grecian Festival: Greek music, Greek dancing, Greek cooking demonstrations and food: pork souvlaki , gyros, spanakopita, saganaki (fried cheese), loukamades (fried dough dipped in honey and cinnamon) and more. SUNDAY
Food Fair: Sri Lankan food is the focus of this outdoor fair. Try white, yellow and biriani rice, with accompaniments, and the elaborate festival dish lampries ; hoppers (coconut griddle cakes); chicken, fish or goat curry; date cakes; marzipan; iced coffee and fruit drinks. 11 a.m. to sunset. MONDAY
Clam Bake & Jubilee: Chef Jennifer Naylor cooks up New England steamers, soft-shell crab po’-boys, Maine lobsters, crab cakes, sweet corn, fruit crisp and watermelon granita.
