Heavy Holiday Traffic Expected on Freeways

Traffic on Ventura County freeways was heavy Saturday but the California Highway Patrol reported no serious problems.
CHP officers had responded to eight minor traffic accidents by Saturday evening.
Traffic was heavy throughout the day on the Ventura Freeway, and CHP officials predicted continued heavy traffic in both directions today, as last-minute holiday shoppers and travelers hit the road.
The CHP will continue its stepped-up traffic enforcement on Ventura County roadways through Tuesday.
