Final top 10 for the girls’ volleyball season:
1. Los Angeles Marymount (34-4)
Small-school Sailors beat just about everybody, big or small, and won state Division IV title.
2. Manhattan Beach Mira Costa (31-6)
Mustangs won 11th Southern Section title, lost in state Division II title match.
3. San Clemente (34-4)
Megan Blackshire and Katy Daly led Tritons to first Southern Section Division I championship.
4. Santa Ana Mater Dei (33-4)
Monarchs finally won Southern Section title, were upset by Mira Costa in state playoffs.
5. North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake (21-2)
Wolverines struggled at end of regular season, regained form during Division III state title run.
6. Long Beach Wilson (25-8)
Bruins, after finishing as Moore League runner-up, finally toppled Long Beach Poly and won Division I-AA championship.
7. Long Beach Poly (24-5)
Moore League champions had solid season despite loss to Wilson in I-AA title match.
8. Lake Forest El Toro (21-8)
Nearly defeated San Diego Torrey Pines in first round of state Division I playoffs.
9. Newport Beach Newport Harbor (22-11)
Could never get past Mira Costa, losing to Mustangs in Southern Section and state playoffs.
10. Lakewood St. Joseph (25-11)
Jesters held their own against larger-enrollment schools all season long.
