Re “Bush’s Budget Chief Raises the Prospect of Dipping Into the Medicare Trust Fund,” July 12: Not only is President Bush giving away our surplus to people who don’t need it, when it could, and should, have been used to provide prescription medications to the elderly on Medicare, but now he is even contemplating raiding the Medicare fund to meet his budget.
