3 Sought in Shooting at Apartment Complex

Police were searching Saturday night for three men who shot a man several times in the courtyard of a busy apartment complex.
The shooting, which police suspect was gang-related, occurred about 5 p.m. in the 800 block of Cedar Court, said Oxnard Police Cmdr. Tom Chronister. The area has seen several gang-related shootings and stabbings.
Few details were available but Chronister said the victim collapsed as he attempted to run away from his attackers. He was conscious when paramedics arrived and was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center.
Several residents of the complex may have witnessed the shooting, Chronister said. The motive was not immediately known.
