Huntington Beach Edison 5, Riverside Poly 0--In the Division II final, Chris Branan had a crucial bunt that drove in two runs and David Huff pitched a two-hitter for Edison, which won its first section title in baseball.
With Edison clinging to a 1-0 lead and runners on second and third with one out in the sixth, Branan Branan squirted a bunt between Poly pitcher Donnie Murphy and first baseman Brian Valdes.
Webber scored easily and Martinez, who set a school record with 29 stolen bases this season, blazed around third without stopping--a planned play--and also scored to make the score 3-0.
Branan was credited with a two-RBI single.
Huff, a sophomore left-hander, struck out six and walked one. He did not give up a hit after the second inning and only two Poly runners got past first base.
