Chris Foster
SCHOOL: Ventura
YEAR: Senior
SPORT: Track and field
SEASON AT A GLANCE: Foster has run career bests of 14.18 in the 110-meter high hurdles and 39.51 in the 300 intermediates after missing his junior season because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Foster won the high hurdles in 14.18 and the intermediates in 39.51 in the Ventura County championships at Moorpark High. The time in the highs broke the county record of 14.20 set by Willie Roseborough of Simi Valley in 1979, lowered Foster’s previous best by .14 seconds and moved him to fifth on the yearly state list. “I’m just glad I’m improving like I am,” he said. “I’ve really been working on my speed work.”
