OCC’s Townsend Sets Record

Tyler Townsend of Orange Coast set a national community college record Friday in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 48.13 seconds in the state swimming championships at Solano College. Townsend also won the 100 backstroke in 49.12.
Diogo Yabe of Golden West set a state record in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 3:54.84.
The Golden West men lead after the second day with 383 points, followed by Cuesta’s 263.
Golden West leads the women’s meet with 413 points. Riverside is second at 244.
