High School Advances in National Science Bowl

North Hollywood High School advanced Sunday to the second day of competition in the U.S. Department of Energy’s National Science Bowl, joining 11 other finalists.
North Hollywood will face Troy High School of Fullerton on Monday, said Darlene Battle, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, which is sponsoring the team.
Four of the 12 finalists in Washington, D.C., are California teams. In addition to North Hollywood and Fullerton, they include teams from Sacramento and the San Francisco area.
