In other Championship-bracket quarterfinals:
Taft def. Huntington Park, 15-3, 15-4, 15-5--Nick Armstrong had 10 kills and 10 blocks for the host Toreadors.
Inshik Shin added nine kills for second-seeded Taft (14-1), which hosts Chatsworth in a semifinal Tuesday.
Taft, two-time defending City champion, defeated Chatsworth twice this season in West Valley League play, winning in four games March 27 and in five games April 5.
Huntington Park is 12-3.
Monroe def. Venice, 8-15, 15-12, 15-4, 5-15, 15-13--Jose Cavazos had 32 kills for Venice, but the host Vikings advanced to the semifinals.
Monroe (13-2) defeated Venice (13-2) for the second time this season, though this one was tougher. The Vikings won in three games in a nonleague match March 6.
