A teenager who allegedly killed a 20-year-old man Wednesday remained at large late Thursday.
A warrant was issued for the arrest of Daniel Charles Williams, 17, suspected of shooting Dwayne Hazel at about 8:50 p.m. on Northwood Avenue near Bennett Street.
Hazel was talking with friends when a young man approached and asked where he was from, said sheriff’s Deputy Scott Butler. The man then pulled a gun from his pocket and fired, Butler said.
The gunman got into the passenger side of a brown, older-model, two-door Buick Regal or Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, which sped away. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at (323) 890-5500.
