Two Men Wounded in Week’s Second Shooting

Two men were wounded by gunfire in the city over the weekend, and authorities are searching for the assailants.
The shooting occurred about 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of North Ojai Road, police said. Officers responding to a report of shots fired found two Santa Paula men, ages 22 and 20, hit by gunfire.
One man was shot in the back and the other in the left leg. Both men were taken to local hospitals. Police did not release the names of the victims and their condition was unknown.
Police have not determined whether the shooting was gang-related. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 525-4474.
Saturday’s incident was the second shooting in Santa Paula in the past week.
