Taiwanese Firm to Be Resentenced

A federal appeals court ordered resentencing for Taiwanese company Four Pillars Enterprise Co. and two executives convicted of stealing trade secrets from Pasadena-based Avery Dennison Corp.
The U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the convictions but sent the case back to U.S. District Judge Peter C. Economus in Youngstown, Ohio, for resentencing. Appeals judges ruled Economus failed to explain why he gave the two executives relatively light penalties, while fining the firm the maximum amount allowed by law.
