Re “Prosecutor Apologizes for Misdeed,” Feb. 14: The mild slap on the wrist of L.A. County Deputy Dist. Atty. Michael Duarte by L.A. County Superior Court Judge Terry A. Green for altering key evidence during a capital murder case leaves me shocked and dismayed. A $1,000 fine for an offense so remarkably bad shakes my faith in the L.A. County justice system.
