Ten more officers will soon patrol the Golden Gate Bridge.
The Golden Gate Bridge District Board of Directors unanimously approved the hires Friday, at a cost of $600,000 a year.
The 10 bridge patrol officers will join a force of 17 officers who handle security and toll-taking duties on the bridge.
“They’ll have a variety of security assignments,” said district spokeswoman Mary Currie. She said the officers would patrol the bridge on foot, by car, by scooter and by bicycle.
