Re “Gossip Begins Over Possible Feinstein Bid for President,” June 4: I have voted Republican since I voted against FDR. However, I will vote for Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) if she promises to end the Cold War.
President Bush claims that he ended the Cold War, but his promise (or threat) to retain 2,000 warheads--with the others in storage--for the next decade is not an end to the Cold War. I define the end of the Cold War as that time when there are no longer enough nuclear weapons to destroy the world.
