Panel to Draft Letter Opposing Casino Project

The Board of Supervisors voted unanimously this week to send a letter to a local Chumash Indian tribe, opposing a plan to build a 106-room hotel atop a new casino in the Santa Ynez Valley.
The letter will express concerns over the project’s size, plans to draw on ground water supplies and anticipated traffic congestion.
