A kayaker found dead in Dana Point Harbor drowned, coroner’s officials said Monday.
An autopsy revealed that William Boos, 46, of Dana Point had a heart disease that contributed to the drowning, said Deputy Cullen Ellingburgh of the Orange County Sheriff’s-Coroner’s Department.
Boos was kayaking with a friend in separate boats in the outer channel of the harbor’s west end when he fell into the water about 8:15 a.m. Sunday, police said.
The friend saw Boos in the water and jumped in but then could not find him.
Rescue crews found Boos’ body about an hour later.
