Blake’s Lawyers Ask for Immediate Bail Hearing

Robert Blake’s attorneys asked the state Supreme Court on Tuesday to order an immediate bail hearing for the actor, who has been charged with murder, solicitation of murder and conspiracy to commit murder in the death of his wife, Bonny Lee Bakley.
Van Nuys Superior Court Judge Lloyd Nash has said he will not consider the bail issue until Blake’s preliminary hearing Nov. 13.
In asking the Supreme Court to order an immediate hearing, lawyers for the 68-year-old actor, who starred in the 1970s television series “Baretta,” contend that the evidence against him is “flimsy.”
Bakley was shot to death in her car May 4, 2001, outside a Studio City restaurant where she and the actor had dinner. Blake has been held without bail since April 18.
