Assante Sells Part of Representation Unit

Assante Corp. sold part of its Steinberg & Moorad sports representation business to agent Leigh Steinberg for $4.07 million, the company said.
Steinberg, whose football clients have included former Pro Bowl quarterbacks Steve Young and Troy Aikman, will have the right to represent about 30 current and former National Football League players in a new sports representation company.
The Steinberg & Moorad agency won a $44.6-million award in November when an L.A. jury determined that ex-partner David Dunn stole clients to start a rival firm.
