Healed Sea Lion Returned to the Ocean

An 8-month-old sea lion has been released into the ocean near Point Reyes after recovering from a crossbow wound.
Arrow was named last November after she was found on a pier near San Luis Obispo with an arrow through her neck, most likely inflicted by a fisherman.
The wound nearly killed the female pup, but she was saved by volunteers from the Marine Mammal Center, who brought her to the center’s hospital in the Marin Headlands.
