Comic Group Drops Its Priest-Sex Abuse Parody

They’ve poked fun at presidential sex and O.J. Simpson, but after outcries from the city’s mayor and Roman Catholic cardinal, a Philadelphia comic group scrapped its parody of the priest sex-abuse scandal during the 102nd Mummers Parade.
“We’re all good Catholic boys,” said George Hirsch Jr., captain of the Slick Duck Comic Brigade, a small club known for outrageous spoofs.
The group’s parade car boasted the theme “The Devil Made Me Do It,” but the group’s dozen or so performers offered no sex or religion -- just rock ‘n’ roll.
The New’s Year’s Day parade was rained out and held Saturday.
