Knightsbridge to leave Pasadena

The prolific Knightsbridge Theatre is losing the lease on its original Pasadena theater at the end of June and will thereafter concentrate its efforts in its second space in Silver Lake, the company’s founder and artistic director, Joseph Stachura, said Friday.
Stachura said he had long anticipated that his 10-year lease in Pasadena might not be renewed and that this was part of the reason the company expanded to Silver Lake in 2000.
Since 2000, the company has maintained a schedule of three concurrent shows in Pasadena and two in Silver Lake.
Producing five at a time “was killing me,” Stachura said, and the company now will probably produce three at a time in Silver Lake.
The Silver Lake venue is generally considered far superior to the Pasadena venue, which is in a basement with a very low ceiling and no wing space.
