Woman Killed Running Across Busy Street

A woman died early Thursday after she was struck by a car as she ran across a busy Anaheim intersection, police said.
Carmen Rivas, 48, of Orange, who was not in a crosswalk, ran across Beach Boulevard near Orange Avenue about 8 p.m. Wednesday and was hit by a sedan driven by a 56-year-old man, said Sgt. Rick Martinez.
Rivas was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where she died about 1:30 a.m. Thursday, coroners officials said. The driver was not cited, Martinez said.
