Filming in Los Angeles Rises in March
The shooting of television pilots and series boosted production on the streets of Los Angeles in March as overall filming rose nearly 22% from a year earlier.
Figures from the Entertainment Industry Development Corp., which issues film permits for shooting outside of studio lots in most of Los Angeles County, show that TV production days -- each day equals one day of shooting on a specific show -- rose nearly 47% to 2,466.
The jump in TV activity offset a slight decline in feature film shooting from a year earlier, as well as a drop in both the shooting of commercials and music videos.
