From Times Wire Reports
Hundreds of tourists stranded by a mudslide near the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu left by train on a newly cleared rail as the search for 10 missing Peruvians continued. One Peruvian has been confirmed dead.
In all, about 70 people were forced to leave their destroyed or damaged homes in Saturday’s mudslides, the country’s head of civil defense said. He reported a man’s body had been found but did not explain earlier reports six bodies had been recovered.
No foreigners were reported missing.
