Mexico and Japan have agreed on the substance of a free-trade agreement, Mexico’s Economy Ministry said.
The deal is expected to create annual growth of 10.6% in Mexican exports to Japan and about 277,000 jobs over 10 years, the ministry said.
Under the deal, tariffs of 18% to 30% on certain Japanese imports would be eliminated.
