OAKLAND
City officials are considering an ordinance that would limit the number of dogs in most households to four.
The ordinance was crafted after Councilman Larry Reid received complaints from residents in his East Oakland district, including the neighbors of a man who owns 12 dogs.
The ordinance’s goal is to reduce the noise, odor and filth caused by too many dogs and other pets in small spaces.
