From Times Wire Reports
A high-speed British passenger train plowed into a car at a street crossing and flew off the rails, killing six people and injuring at least 60.
The train, traveling from London to Plymouth, carried 300 passengers, British Transport Police said.
It wasn’t clear whether infrastructure failure or staff errors were responsible for the collision. Rail safety has been a political issue since a series of deadly crashes followed the industry’s privatization in the 1990s.
