The Screen Actors Guild on Sunday named Greg Hessinger its new national executive director and chief executive.
Hessinger, whose appointment was expected, will succeed A. Robert Pisano, who is leaving next month to become a consultant. Pisano’s departure follows the ratification last month of a three-year contract between actors and studios. He has held the job since 2001.
Hessinger is currently the national executive director of SAG’s sister union, the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. His new post, which he assumes May 2, is the top staff position in Hollywood’s largest acting union.
