High Price of Gas

Pentagon auditors said Halliburton Corp. might have overcharged the U.S. by more than $100 million on a contract to deliver fuel to Iraq (March 15). Among other items, the auditors said that Halliburton had charged $427.5 million to deliver $82,100 worth of liquefied petroleum gas, which amounts to almost $335,000 for each dollar’s worth of gas. The auditors called the price “illogical,” but I believe that criminal may be more apt.
