A small Cessna airplane made an emergency landing on a plateau next to a Brea landfill shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday, authorities said.
“The pilot landed because of mechanical trouble and went looking for a mechanic,” said Lt. Lloyd Downing of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, near the Brea-Olinda Landfill near South Valencia Avenue and Carbon Canyon Road, but no injuries or damage were reported.
The incident was being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration, Downing said.
