Theater troupe with a mission

While we were pleased to be included in F. Kathleen Foley’s listings on theater for youth [“Not Just Child’s Play,” Oct. 6], I did want to add that Parson’s Nose Productions is a 5-year-old professional nonprofit company whose mission is to educate and inspire new theater audiences. We are seen not only at the Geffen, but also at the Pasadena Playhouse and on tour to schools throughout Los Angeles and Pasadena.
This season, in addition to “The Family Mi$er,” we are producing a world premiere adaptation of “The Pied Piper of Hamlin” by artistic director Lance Davis, which he was inspired to write after learning of the death by a suicide bomber of a young American woman who was working to aid women and children in Iraq.
