Szakacsy Leaving St. Bonaventure

Samson Szakacsy, a 6-foot-4 junior quarterback at Ventura St. Bonaventure who helped his team win the Southern Section Division IV championship last season, told Coach Jon Mack on Sunday that he is leaving school to move to Camarillo.
Szakacsy, who threw a touchdown pass in St. Bonaventure’s season-opening win on Friday against Ridgecrest Burroughs, had been sharing the starting quarterback position with senior Matt Evans for the second consecutive season. Mack said Szakacsy told him family problems were the reason he had to switch schools.
After Friday’s game, Szakacsy insisted he was satisfied with sharing time at quarterback, saying he had to “sacrifice” for the good of the team.
