NASA Deputy Named to Agency’s Top Post

Wayne Hale, NASA’s deputy shuttle program manager, was named permanently to the agency’s top spot.
Hale had been serving as acting program manager after the reassignment last week of Bill Parsons, who is now leading NASA’s hurricane recovery effort on the Gulf Coast.
Hale has worked at NASA since 1978. He oversaw flight control teams at Mission Control in Houston for 40 shuttle missions.
